About Esther Bangura

Esther Bangura is a UK-based financial coach, researcher, and speaker specialising in neurodivergent money management. Her work focuses on the intersection of ADHD, executive dysfunction, workplace stress, and financial wellbeing.

Following a late ADHD diagnosis, Esther recognised how masking, stress spending, and inconsistent systems had contributed to repeated debt cycles despite earning a stable income. Rather than relying on traditional budgeting advice, she developed practical, brain-aligned financial structures that reduced impulsive spending and created long-term stability. She later became completely debt-free.

Esther now works with neurodivergent professionals, students and business owners who feel financially capable yet overwhelmed. Through 1:1 coaching, research, workshops, and her podcast, she helps clients build calm, shame-free money systems that account for ADHD tax, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, autism, low-capacity days, and nervous system regulation.

She is the founder of the UK Neurodivergent Money Report, one of the few studies exploring financial wellbeing among late-diagnosed and self-identifying neurodivergent adults.

Panel: The Future is African and Female: Women in Politics, Policy and the Fight for Representation

Esther spoke alongside Dr Eleanor Nwadinobi and Councillor Patience Bentu as the only panellist addressing neurodiversity and money. She made the case that representation is not only about who gets elected. It is about who gets counted.

Her extended UK research reaching Black and ethnic minority neurodivergent communities resulted in a final study of 368 adults across the UK, with findings that mirrored those published by StepChange Debt Charity five months later.

"You do not have to sit in a policy room to move policy. You can gather the evidence yourself and knock on the door with it."
